  1. Does everyone agree with me when I say that:

1.Nadezhda Pavlova was a virtousa ballerina

    2.Natalia Bessmertnova a lyrical ballerina

    3.Yekaterina Maximova a soubrette ballerina

    Does anyone disagree?

  2. It is true,Jeannie, that if it werent for Spain ballet would have lost its most favorite theme.Imagine! No Don Q.,Paquita! But I must disagree when you say that ballet is paid no attention to in Spain.Spaniards are enthusiastic balletomanes and are very respectful of this profession.

  3. I would like to know what anyone thinks about Nadezhda Pavlova,Natalia Bessmertnova, and Yekaterina Maximova. In all the books I have read they are said to have been the most talented young Bolshoi ballerinas.Has anyone seen them perform live or on video? Maximova is the teacher of Svetlana Lunkina, but what are the other two doing?

  4. Trinidad Sevillano is a Spanish ballerina who was trained by Victor Ullate. She danced with the English National,Royal Ballet, and the Boston Ballet.Recently she participated in a gala in Spain dancing Black Swan. She also danced a new production of Giselle by Victor Ullate.Ullate also recently choreographed a piece for her called Solas.

  5. I would like to know what opinions people have of the ballet in spain. To me it is remarkable that a country with almost no classical trdition has stars like Angel Corella and Lucia Lacarra. Also, what about the Victor Ullate ballet ? It is a major part of the current ballet boom in Spain.I find it surprising that there isnt a major company in Spain yet since there is obviously so much talent.
