I love Cranko's R & J! In the 70's I supered for Stuttgart in NYC at the Met and it was magical for me to see Haydee and Cragun in it.

I didn't want to say too much but......Sugar Plum was the one of the co-directors in her 50's!!! So was her partner. They had male guests in the party scene trying to dance who never took a dance lesson in their lives or so it looked. Choreography terrible- how many finger turns can you do??? Kids not well rehearsed- so called pro dancers horribly overweight and lacking any talent.

I also saw 2 Nutcrackers- one good, one very bad. Good and different was Sarasota Ballet's new Circus Nutcracker. New choreography, sets, and costumes- live orchestra.

Bad was Atlanta Festival Ballet- they call themselves a pro company????

She was a friend/colleague of one of my friends/teachers. She took class sometimes with me. My teacher was in FCDQ with her.

I saw Symphonic yesterday- beautiful!

Sarasota Ballet will be performing Lilac March 1-3, 2013.

I saw it last week at the Sarasota Film Festival and really enjoyed it.

I have been watching these and wanted to watch the last one. Does anyone know how to watch it? I googled it and it says it is not available.

I know she danced with Boston Ballet and Stuttgart.

I have always liked Meryl Streep so I enjoyed that segment. Also have been a fan of Diamond- like most of his songs. I would have liked more classical performances for Ma, but was surprised he did so many other things other than just classical.

I enjoyed it- skipped the saxophone player. Where were the dance honors??

They are from Sarasota Ballet in Florida- not Saratoga.

I was also a student of hers in Columbus. I was a member of Christopher Ballet company through middle and high school. I lost touch with her years ago.

Very interesting video! I used to see Mararova do SL and no one was better than her! She has a lot of info to give and the dancer didn't seem to want to listen.

I saw it last night and as a former professional dancer, I liked it. I read enough about it here and in reviews that I knew what to expect.

I got the book on EBay very cheap but I haven't read it yet since it is supposed to be a Christmas present from my son!

Marjorie was my ballet mistress when I was in Milwaukee ballet. Very sad.

When I lived in NYC in the 70's, I went to NYCB as often as possible. She was always my favorite female dancer. When I wss in Hartford Ballet, we got some of NYCB's unused pointe shoes and I was very disappointed that her shoes were too big for me!!

I knew Sophie- she was from my daughters' school. She was a lovely dancer and I applaud her for speaking out.

My dd actually wanted to do the tests since she is interested in health and nutrition. She got paid a little too.

I just read the link from June 1 #10 about Milwaukee Ballet dancers being tested for health issues. My daugher was one of those tested. I think they were actually all dancers from MB2. Anyway, she had told me about the testing and said it was very interesting. If anyone wants to know what all was tested, I can call her to find out. I don't remember from last year.
