  1. Perhaps the dancers have lost their voices (too many parties) or have become shy!

It would be interesting to hear about Galeazzi as she is becoming one of my favourite dancers and I haven't seen her dance that role before. Perhaps it was her debut?

As for the company, they did something unforgivable -- they didn't sing at the end!  When did that get cut?????

I saw Fille when the RB performed it earlier this season and the singing was there. Some nights it wasn't very loud but it was there at all the shows I saw!

  3. In repsonse to your post jcaguioa, Darcey has not danced Kitri. She has rehearsed it and got as far as a dress rehearsal but never performed it and technically I think she is more than capable of dancing the role.

Funny you mention the role of Odette. I was speaking to someone last week who watched both Tamara and Darcey dance the role back in Dec and they mentioned it was a bit like "anything you can do - I can do just as well, if not better" when Darcey performed her last SL! Stunning was the word used to describe her performance!

  4. Sonja : Are you still planning on coming over for the 23rd? The thought about Igor also crossed my mind as I am not sure who he would dance with! At least I still have Roberto next week!

  5. Great to read the views on this new ballet. I saw Wheeldon's new ballet he did last summer for the Royal Ballet (There Where She Loves) and thought it was a wonderful piece.

I'm not that up to date on what he has choreographed but I was wondering if he has turned his hand to a 3 act ballet?

  6. Danseuse : Yes I am that 'Shirley'! Why do you ask?

NO7 : It's wonderful news and couldn't happen to a nicer couple. They will make brilliant parents!

I know how you feel as I have a front row seat for R&J and of course tickets for every show she was planning on doing until May.

  7. Glad to see everyone enjoyed it as much as I did! I thought the performance was stunning - one of the best Swan Lakes I have ever seen Darcey (if not the best) perform. She also added a few changes - the arms in the fouettés and the changements at the end of the pdd in Act 3.

Have you had a go at the competition Sonja? I'm lucky I have a pair of Darcey's old shoes so I think I'll exempt myself. No point in being greedy eh!
