L. A. Roslavleva is shown in this caricature costumed in a tutu decorated with attributes, i.e. lilies of the valley, sometimes associated with the Fairy Candide in the Prologue of THE SLEEPING BEAUTY, or at least so associated in Vsevolozhsky's 1890 design scheme, which was also connected to Gorsky's 1899 staging of SLEEPING BEAUTY for Moscow's Bolshoi Theater. In fact, Roslavleva (1874-1904) was Gorsky's first Aurora in '99, so perhaps the Legats depicted her in a role other than that of Candide.
