Pennsylvania Ballet announces the launch of its own YouTube channel. The channel is part of a series of ongoing new media initiatives to give viewers an insider’s view of one of the premier ballet companies in the country.

Pennsylvania Ballet’s YouTube channel will be accessed at youtube.com/pennsylvaniaballet and will offer regularly posted videos of the rehearsal process, dancer and choreographer interviews, performance footage and previews.

Pennsylvania Ballet is one of only a handful of ballet companies to create a YouTube channel, and whose Artistic Director is intimately involved in conceptualizing the content for the site as an opportunity to elaborate on the creative process for the general public.

The initial video produced for the launch of the YouTube channel will provide a stunning introduction to this remarkable Company. Artistic Director Roy Kaiser will develop the content of all the video segments to provide viewers unprecedented access to the Company.

“We want to give viewers a 24/7 look at Pennsylvania Ballet – its artists, our process both onstage and in the rehearsal studios,” says Kaiser, who collaborated with filmmaker Cameron Zonfrilli to realize his artistic vision for this project. New York-based Zonfrilli is a graduate of the University of the Arts. His production team has spent the past few months following the Company with Kaiser’s creative direction. The design team at WellFed, an interactive start-up studio in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood created a fresh, yet functional layout for the site. New videos and additional content will be added every three to four weeks throughout the season. Subscribers to the channel will receive notifications about special events, upcoming performances, and other insider information by visiting regularly.

Pennsylvania Ballet continues its 45th Anniversary Season, February 11 – February 15 at the Merriam Theater at the University of the Arts, 250 S. Broad Street with Nine Sinatra Songs, Fearful Symmetries and the world premiere of Requiem for a Rose by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa. For more information and tickets, visit www.paballet.org.
