  1. Apparently Ksenia has been hired at the Bolshoi as a choryphe but as the Bolshoi's website doesn't make any difference between corps and choryphe, she is listed amongst the corps. She danced the neapolitan bride on September 21 and will be dancing one of the two Sylphs in the ballet "La Sylphide" on October 11. She seems to have some great opportunities. Let's hope it continues!
  2. Ksenia Zhiganshina is listed as a corps de ballet member on the Bolshoi website: http://www.bolshoi.ru/en/persons/ballet/ I thought she was being offered a soloist contract. Does anyone know more about this? It is also written that she will dance one of the Furies in "Flammes de Paris" on 27th September: http://www.bolshoi.ru/en/performances/235/roles/#20140927120000 source: dansomanie
  3. Tiara, Shakirova is not the only Vaganova student to be given solo role with the Mariinsky ballet. Ksenia Ziganshina danced Amor in her 7th grade and danced the principal role of Masha in Nutcracker in her 9th grade (with the company - not with the school). Even though I agree that it is not a lot compared to Shakirova.
  4. Hello everyone! I have been following this forum since a long time but it is the first time I ever post a message. I am writing a dissertation about the opening of the new mariinsky (who fund it, what are the political and economical purpose, how it is related to the cultural diplomacy...) and I find it very hard to get informations other than reviews from newspaper. I was wondering if some of you knows a governmental report or some serious reviews, books or even dissertation about it? It will helps me a lot! And maybe I can post it here when it is over. Thank you very much in advance for your help!
