Ashton Celebration
I wanted to alert you to the the summer's major Ballet Event at Lincoln Center. The Ashton Celebration, a two week long tribute to Sir Fredrick Ashton, runs from July 6 through 17 featuring nine different programs performed by companies acclaimed for their exquisite interpretation of Ashton's work. Week one begins with The Joffrey Ballet Company of Chicago, the Birmingham Royal Ballet and the K-Ballet Company performing their stunning interpretations of Ashton work. Week two spotlights The Royal Ballet's return to the festival with three works, including a new production of Cinderella and Sylvie Guillem in Marguerite and Armand. This expansive showcase of signature pieces as well as those rarely seen reflects the stylistic virtuosity and technical versatility for which Ashton is renowned. Alexandra
Thanks for the information. We've set up a whole forum for this here: The Ashton Celebration where we've put up the schedules for all events. (We don't allow cross-posts on this forum; it becomes too confusing to have multilple threads going on with the same information, so I deleted the one on Announcements.) Link to comment
