  1. Young Mr. Scher is a very talented choreographer, to judge from the few pieces of his I've seen.

Even if this does turn out to be the dramatic equivalent of that awful Eifman "tribute", some interesting dancing might come from it. Hard to tell from the press release just how much dancing is in the staging.

Thanks for the compliment! The play has about 7 minutes of total dancing with music, and more scenes where the "Alexei" character is coaching Lindsay and Sonia without music. The play is NOTHING like Musagete for better or worse. I hope you'll check it out! The opening last night went very well and tonight is sold out.

  2. I hope he is still choreographing! I saw something he did for the ABT Studio Company several years ago, and was so impressed.

Thanks! Yah I have been trying to keep choreographing, but it's been hard lately, and I've been busy dancing. I am doing a piece for Festival Ballet Providence this year, one for for the school and one for the company.

  3. He is in SF dancing in a choreographers workshop this summer.

no, I'm not... I was dancing in Portland at the Northwest Professional Dance Project. That's where I met John Alleyne, and got invited to dance with Ballet British Columbia.

  4. Avichai Scher (Avi) is listed as a dancer with LA Ballet and Joffrey. Does anyone know where he is dancing? He is a very talented choreographer.

Thanks for the choreography credit! I'm dancing with Ballet British Columbia in Vancouver now. So far so good, beautiful place to be. Do I know you?

    Avi
