Wow. Thank you for mentioning this. I'd almost forgotten that scene even existed, and it's really quite beautiful.

And now for my answer... Nutcracker. There always seems to be the most opportunity for corps in the Nutcracker, and the snow scene is perhaps my favorite piece of all time.

Much agreed! Especially when properly lit, the dancers appear to be frozen in time. That first breath before the movement begins is truly beautiful.

And don't forget Dr. Coppelius slipping Franz a mickey....

That was the first thing that came to my mind! How the plot would advance WITHOUT that, I have no idea.

The simple tableaux repeated in Pas de Quatre is a particular favorite of mine.
