  1. MommaJambe,

Blake's The Snowman has been staged by the Birmingham Rep, although it's not all about dance, it has some nice sequences. it's available on video but only in the PAL/SECAM format.

I'd like to see Mahler's Wunderhorn Symphonies, along with the 6th and 8th. Also his Des Knaben Wunderhorn, and Grieg's Peer Gynt. :D

yup It went ok for most of the performance but at the end the height of Mexico city (2240m over sea level) took its toll on Golub and Fadeyev (most notably) not to mention several other dancers. Good performance overall, looking forward to Swan Lake (tomorrow) and Gala (Tuesday)

Gyromatic, you should attend the Gala too.  I wish I could come to Mexico!

I haven't heard of a gala yet, they had one last year though, so I'll find out. Thanks :)

So far they've announced an extra performance of Swan Lake on the 13th. I'll be attending Don Quixote on the 8th and SL on the 11th :D

  4. most popular ballets (i.e., Nutcracker, Swan Lake) are commonly found in piano transcription. I personally have the Nutcracker one :) Les Sylphides full ballet can be found more likely as separate pieces.

For those that cannot be found in transcription, there's the alternative of doing it oneself but it's time consuming and some music may not be suitable for single-instrument transcription (i.e., heavily orcherstated music such as Mahler's 2nd symphony).
