The state of The New Yorker

The New Yorker may be on the verge of turning a profit again. Its editor, David Remnick, says he's not interested in focus groups. Dan Yost reports for the San Francisco Chronicle:


It should perhaps be noted for the record that Yost mentions but elides the fact that the magazine was consistently in the black during the editorship of fusty old William Shawn.
