In late 2023, it fired several dancers who went on strike over working conditions. Those dancers have gone on to form a separate troupe, called Central New York Ballet Co. Now Central New York is home to two competing dance troupes. For the coming season, Syracuse City Ballet “is off to a fresh start and rebrand,” Douglas said. Link to comment
