The Royal New Zealand Ballet presents a "Cinderella" with two male leads.

The RNZB production pushes the boundaries of the traditional Cinderella storyline, following the love story between Prince Charming and Prince Dashing.

“We’re lucky that we get to be a part of it and that we as the Royal New Zealand Ballet are one of the first in the world to do something like this,” says the dancer

The headquarters of Queensland Ballet is renovated and expanded.

Works included the refurbishment of the existing centre with the addition of a new three-storey extension to make way for six dance studios, a performance and wellness centre, expanded wardrobe and production facilities, a roof terrace, cafe and function spaces. Five historic air raid shelters have also been converted into a “bunker bar” that will be ready to host exclusive hospitality experiences from next year.

While this juxtapositional physicality is, in King’s choreography, usually imbued with a creamy texture, there are some purposely jarring images, as in “Writing Ground,” the excerpt from the 2010 “Over My Head,” set to a gorgeous recording of Kathleen Battle singing the traditional song of the title. Madeline DeVries, another star in King’s galaxy, bumbles about on awkwardly tottering, turned-in legs, or flops over like a rag doll at the end of her rope, but presses on nonetheless.
