Kyle Abraham makes a new piece for the Royal Ballet.

The question of diversity in a notoriously white art form has long concerned Kevin O’Hare, the Royal Ballet’s artistic director for the past ten years. He says that the Royal Ballet has reconfigured its education programme in the hope of encouraging more children of colour to take up dance, while its emerging choreographer candidate is Joseph Toonga, a black artist whose background is in hip-hop. “But we are really finding our way forward,” O’Hare says. “And in all honesty there is lots more to do.”

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre announces its 2022-23 season.

"Dracula," Michael Pink's spine-chilling dance drama, will be at the Benedum Center Feb. 10-12, 2023. It will be the first time Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre has taken on this production.

The Russian National Ballet seeks to tour under a different name,

The company has rebranded as the National Ballet in the wake of the Ukraine crisis but as the Sunday National went to press, venues were still selling tickets for performances of Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty under the old name.
