The Vail Dance Festival offers "International Evenings of Dance."

Quote

When luminaries from New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and BalletX perform alongside such distinctive Vail Dance Festival mainstays as Lil Buck, Michelle Dorrance and Melissa Toogood, joined by newcomers Caili Quan and Byron Tittle, the enthusiasm emanating from the stage as well as from the audience will be at a new level. Not only are some of the nation’s most celebrated dancers returning to live performance – after mastering the art of the virtual – but they bring a renewed energy as they take on new challenges and welcome opportunities to cultivate their artistry.

A review of Verb Ballets by Kerry Clawson in The Akron Beacon Journal.

Quote

The Tchaikovsky music played last weekend was a live instrumental recording from an Ohio Ballet performance decades ago, said Verb Associate Artistic Director Richard Dickinson, a former Ohio Ballet dancer who owns the rights to Poll's "Rococo Variations," which premiered in 1993. The recording features former Ohio Ballet music director David Fisher on piano and an unknown cellist.

Another lovely feature of the audio is the sound of audience applause from the vintage recording. Last weekend's Verb performances were staged in memory of Fisher, who died in November at age 73.
