New York City Ballet returns to Saratoga.

But this season is like no other season because of the pandemic and social protocols. Although the company’s dancers are fully vaccinated and negotiations are still being held with all the other unions who support the company, such as the musicians union, to mandate everyone be vaccinated, the company decided to bring only 15 dancers to SPAC and two pianists, Alan Moverman and Nancy McDill.

Ballet Arizona hosts its second Summer Book Club.

The Book Club will meet once each quarter to discuss various selections. Meetings will be via Zoom with access information being sent out closer to the meeting date. The virtual gatherings will be facilitated by Alexandra Papazian, Education & Community Engagement manager.

 A colt named Bolshoi Ballet scores a big win.

In a slightly more than two-minute-long testament to the greatness Galileo passed along to his progeny, Bolshoi Ballet  added another chapter to his sire's legacy by shipping in from Europe and capturing the $1 million Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes (G1T) for the Coolmore team of Susan Magnier, Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith, and Westerberg.
