Quote “I have no words to express how I feel,” wrote Iliana Lopez, who danced leading roles in many of Gamonet’s ballets at Miami City Ballet and Ballet Gamonet in South Florida. “Jimmy was our great friend, our brother. ... Quote Dancers and choreographers worked together for weeks via zoom in their own personal spaces, before the dancers returned to the studio for rehearsals. New Works was then recorded using multiple cameras at the Aronoff Center’s Jarson-Kaplan Theater, where the in-person performance would have taken place. Link to comment
dirac Posted February 28, 2021 Author Share Posted February 28, 2021 A review of the Sarasota Ballet in "Donizetti Variations" by Marina Harss for The Sarasota Herald-Tribune. Quote It is reflected as well in the quality of the two pas de deux, one short and one long, danced here by Katelyn May and Yuri Marques. The relationship is one of camaraderie rather than romance. Marques, recently promoted to coryphée, still has a way to go in creating the illusion of barely touching his partner’s wrists when he catches her at the end of a turn. He also appears taxed by the admittedly devilish combination of steps in his solo, with some messy landings in the double tours. Link to comment
