Join SF Ballet Artistic Director and Principal Choreographer Helgi Tomasson, Executive Director Kelly Tweeddale and choreographers Myles Thatcher and Danielle Rowe to hear how they pivoted to create this year’s digital season. February 17, Program 2 SF Ballet’s 2021 Visiting Scholar, Nyama McCarthy-Brown, shares her research. March 10, Program 3 SF Ballet’s 2020 Scholar-in-Residence Carrie Gaiser Casey, PhD gives insight into Alexei Ratmansky’s Symphony #9. April 7, Jewels George Balanchine’s Jewels is a study in contrasts: three composers, three styles, three moods. Company dancers discuss the details of Emeralds, Rubies, and Diamonds and what makes each section of this ballet distinct. April 28, Program 5 Program 5 features three works created here in San Francisco. Join Company dancers who were part of the creation process for these three ballets to learn what it was like to work with Helgi Tomasson, Cathy Marston, and David Dawson in the studio. May 12, Romeo & Juliet What does it take to bring Helgi Tomasson’s Romeo & Juliet to life? Find out from Production Stage Manager Jane Green, Fight Director Martino Pistone, and Ballet Master and Principal Character Dancer Anita Paciotti as they discuss the various elements that must come together to create this production.
