Cheerful Video for the Day -- Ballet and the Arts

Recommended Posts

“Explanation: What are these humans doing? Dancing. Many humans on Earth exhibit periods of happiness, and one method of displaying happiness is dancing. Happiness and dancing transcend national boundaries and occur in practically every human society. Above, Matt Harding traveled through many nations on Earth, planned on dancing, and filmed the result. The featured video, one in a series of similar videos, is perhaps a dramatic example that humans from all over planet Earth feel a common bond as part of a single species. Happiness is frequently contagious -- few people are able to watch the featured video without smiling.”

Matt has made several of these videos, and they are all quite charming.

Thanks, Sandik, for keeping the spotlight on this “charming” set of videos, although they seem to be doing fine without us. The 2008 (the original) shown above has over 52 Million views !  The later one here from 2012 seems to have a more ‘mellowed’ Matt (he’s a new father, it appears) and a more ‘mellowed’ feeling. All the ones that I’ve seen are great !

(Where the Hell is Matt? 2012. The series title seems to have changed to “Where the Heck is Matt?” This somewhat more pleasant title is more in keeping with the joy of these videos)

Very clever! I like it. I went investigating and that illusionist has created a whole slew of quickie illusion videos - check 'em out:

The PB Nutcracker video was enjoyable as well.

Now, how many dancers get comments from the likes of Aurelie Dupont and Alexei Ratmansky on their silly video?

Thank you, Buddy!

I’m so glad that you like it, Dirac.

I think that this clip is absolutely charming !  Disney at its best.

There’s another movie, Leap (english) / Ballerina (french), that does have delightful dance related sequences that can be found on the internet in unofficial clips.

I think that this can be considered an authorised posting.

We interrupt Tom47, “Ragtime and More” briefly (see following topic) .

From me, it’s a package deal this week.

Pot-Pourri (Banda Cover versão completa) - Rivers of Babylon - Sugar Sugar - More Than I Can Say - Forever and Ever - Mississippi - Guantanamera - Kiss Me, Honey Honey, Kiss Me - Jeany Ich Brauch' Dich
