dirac Posted May 31, 2020 Share Posted May 31, 2020 Two San Francisco dancers create a short ballet involving pasta bolognese, Quote “Recipe for Disaster,” recorded on an iPhone and released in black-and-white on Instagram and YouTube, captures a duet between senior company member Terez Dean Orr and retired company member John Speed Orr in a tight and riveting 2 minutes and 15 seconds. They’re married and have been sheltering in place together since the coronavirus pandemic hit the Bay Area, which is why they were able to stage a ballet without having to stand 6 feet apart. Quote ......One hardly registers ‘steps’ with Osipova for she seems to skim the surface of the stage before taking flight effortlessly. She teases rather than flirts with the officers dancing mainly with Edward Watson (charm personified) and later with another trio of officers clad in bathing suits – another tricky pas de trois which does not faze the likes of Tristan Dyer, Marcelino Sambé and Luca Acri. Quote Isaac Hernandez's Siegfried is a youthful and buoyant presence, not appearing particularly hampered by the dry courtly goings on in Act I. There is also eye-catching strength in ENB's ranks, however. Daniel McCormick shines in the pas de trois with exuberant jumps and pleasing control - he dances a neat menage that flies across the stage with abundant musicality - while there is elegant support from Rina Kanehara and Alison McWhinney.
