Like the 1940 movie with Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier, it was based not directly on the novel but on Helen Jerome's adaptation for the stage. The Burrows musical concentrated to an unusual degree on the machinations of Mrs. Bennet, who was played by Hermione Gingold. It was...interesting. Link to comment
