Dance TV Guide — April

A guide to streaming ballet & dance online

Fjord Review

https://www.fjordreview.com/dance-tv-guide/

(Thanks to Jan McNulty at BalletcoForum)

Thanks, Buddy. The Fjord Review comes through for us - it's good to have a compendium online of what's available and for how long. Hopefully they can keep the listing up-to-date.

You're welcome, Pherank. I hope that this is helpful and offers some enjoyment.

Just in case anyone missed it, as I did, you click on "Next" above photo, at the moment, "The Australian Ballet," to continue the list.

Something Sarah Mearns mentioned in her interview with Meagan Fairchild - Berlin Philharmonic is streaming their repertoire for free:

https://www.berliner-philharmoniker.de/en/titelgeschichten/20192020/digital-concert-hall/

"How do I do this?

Log on to the Digital Concert Hall ticket page with the code BERLINPHIL and use the Digital Concert Hall free of charge for 30 days. Cancellation is not required. If you are not yet a user of the Digital Concert Hall, registration – without obligation – is required. If you already have a ticket or subscription to the Digital Concert Hall, the duration will be extended accordingly."

:offtopic: Not ballet, but a special treat from the Vienna State Opera today as it streams a performance of Der Rosenkavalier from 1994, with Carlos Kleiber conducting Felicity Lott, Anne Sofie von Otter, Barbara Bonney and Kurt Moll. The production is by Otto Schenk.

What a treat. Thank you! And, as many of you know, there is NO complete recording of Glass Pieces available in North America. I would have happily bought a tape or DVD many years ago if only NYCB had figured out how to release it.

François Alu, Karl Paquette and Stéphane Boullion are a very appealing trio of sailors. (Though I have to smile, because every time they shrug it really does look Gallic.) Mathias Heymann is one of the few dancers who can perform Baryshnikov's roles without looking like the ghost of Baryshnikov is hovering over him. And, well, Hugo Marchand with no shirt on is kind of self-explanatory.

Is Alu the shorter guy who did the first solo?  That guy was everything in that role.
