I'm a little surprised that this is described as Corrales's "Professional debut". He joined English National Ballet in 2014 and is now a first soloist there. Earlier this month he was the Outstanding Male performance (classical) at the National Dance Awards here in the UK.  Perhaps it is intended to indicate that it his first professional appearance in the US ?

I suspect they meant that it is his first appearance at YAGP as a professional, rather than as a competitor. But I agree it is very misleading. When I saw it I also thought, WTH???

That was exactly that I thought.

By the way, Alina Cojocaru commented on Twitter that she will not be participating in those galas.

I attended the YAGP Stars of Today..., as well as the Bocca gala.   There were many wonderful moments, but the highlight was the breathtaking performance of Rojo and Corrales in the Don Q pdd at the Bocca gala.

I was at the Bocca Gala too.  Hernandez danced with Tamara.  She was incredible!  A firecracker at 42 years old!

Triple turns inserted in every third fast and furious fouetté!  So many personal touches and style added.  Loved her!
