And the awesome fouettes of Frances Chung (for the Black Swan?):

There had been a long clip of Froustey and various male dancers working on the new Arthur Pita ballet (which has a Salome theme though the title hasn't been settled yet), but not surprisingly, it was taken down. Ah well.

Masha is now in Cuba (after finishing the Kennedy Center shows). Perhaps she is only able to sleep well on airplanes.

Wonderful links, thank you for sharing. I've always wondered about just how much time dancers actually spend in a gym considering how much physical activity they already have in the studio. Interesting to see Mathilde in this context.

It's difficult to know with a lot of dancers, Mathilde Froustey just happens to keep a constant diary of her doings online. I know she will alternate many things: Pilates, Bikram yoga, physical therapy with Lisa Giannone (consulting physical therapist and athletic trainer to SFB), gyrotonics with Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Flamenco lessons (the Flamenco Academy of Dance?).

Kochetkova is famous for doing pretty much nothing but class, rehearsals and performances, over and over, all year round.

Here's more on the same subject of physical conditioning from Mathilde Froustey:

And for something different -

Ballet Master Felipe Diaz coaching Froustey in a Nutcracker role - Mathilde writes that she had a migraine that day. Personally, I can't do much of anything with a sinus headache. Dancing would definitely be out. ;)

People are getting to know Felipe from the World Ballet Day broadcasts - he leads a great class at SFB.

Thanks for those links, sf_herminator -

I didn't know Norika Matsuyama was out with injury until I saw Froustey's video. I imagine it can be pretty scary for the young ones to be sidelined at an early stage of the career.

Interestingly, franadian [Frances Chung] says, "unfortunately I am not in the Balanchine program. Fortunately I'll get to be in the audience watching the glorious @sfballet dancers perform :)"

I assume this is because she was first cast for Frankenstein, and is slated to dance Program 5. Froustey is expected for Program 5 as well - I hope she will be ready to dance.

EDIT: Looks like Masha is rehearsing Diamonds too:

Speaking of Angelo Greco, I saw him in the last movement of Tomasson's Trio over the weekend, and he was unreservedly wonderful in presence, full-out dancing and then some - stopping on a dime but unrushed, precise, exciting, musical - and outshining his technically strong but dull partner. Greco can dance up a storm beyond the multiple pirouettes and high-flying jumps.

Josette, I couldn't agree more. I think he is a great example of where dancers should be looking for inspiration. The tricks aren't enough. You need to be able to d-a-n-c-e and have something unique and striking about you. I feel that this company understands it better than most. It's so exciting to see the dancers find "themselves" on stage - to realize their potential and become their own artist.
