The LA Ballet's 2015 - 16 season will include the first performances by an American company of Frederick Ashton's Romeo and Juliet, originally made for the Royal Danish Ballet.

I hope it will be as danced by LFB/ENB as opposed to the cut down version! It was the first version of R&J I ever saw (in 1985) and I have wonderful memories of outstanding performances.

Wow -- this could be a road trip. I didn't think I'd ever get a chance at this one!

I also remember the LFB version from its New York tour. I haven't seen the scaled-down version, but I can't see how it could "count" as the real thing.

Thanks for the news. I've always wanted to see the Ashton version.

I am incredibly sad that I cannot get to any of the performances, but am hoping that it goes well enough that they keep the production around. Or that another company, like Sarasota, decides to mount it.
