alexaa1a Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Just curious.... and then.. When was the last time ABT presented it...? Mariinsky Ballet usually performs it, at least once a year. In the 2009/2010 season, they probably performed it around 5 times..
sandik Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 At least ten years ago, by a semi-professional group.
Natalia Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 About eight years ago at the Hermitage Theatre in St Petersburg, during concert of Mariinsky soloists. I also saw the Leonid Jacobsen troupe dance that late choreographer's own version to music from Bellini 's Norma...only the beginning and ending poses (& costumes) bore any resemblance to the Dolin version to Pugni score. Slightly eccentric and with far more difficult choreography than the Dolin/Pugni version. Didn't Alicia Alonso create her very own choreography to the Pugni score? I saw that in San Juan. Puerto Rico, in 1978.

Lucky you. I just bought Janice Ross' new book on Yakobson -- haven't finished it yet, but her description of the work is fascinating.
