Stage Right
I am sorry to hear this. I remember reading many articles by Doris herring in Dance Magazine when I was a teenager and young adult. her name became kind of synonymous with ballet for me. RIP. Link to comment
sandik
her name became kind of synonymous with ballet for me. RIP. This was true for many of us. A few years ago, she received the Senior Critic Award from the Dance Critics Association -- I was able to be at the luncheon, and was so interested in her address. She was direct, enthusiastic and thoughtful, but the story that made me smile was about one of her first reviews, of Margot Fonteyn in Sleeping Beauty. She was so excited about her assignment that she missed her subway stop on the way back from the theater. Link to comment
