California
The schedule for the 2013 Lincoln Center Festival was just posted. Alas, they're not bringing any ballet companies, as they did last year with POB: http://www.lincolncenterfestival.org/
abatt
This is a pretty disappointing lineup if you're a dance lover.
California
"Disappointing" is an understatement, especially after the disastrous Segerstrom announcement. Many of us will be saving on tickets and travel expenses by skipping all of those. Next on the horizon: NYCB's 2013-14 season (announced in June?) and ABT's fall season (announced in July?). abatt
I'm saving up for trips to DC in 2014- Mariinsky SL and Bolshoi TBA.
Natalia
Just as the Wolf Trap Park summer schedules have become - almost ZERO classical ballet. Aspen-Sta Fe Ballet is pretty much 'it' for 2013...and their rep is more modern than classical (no guarantee of seing a pointe shoe on stage). California
San Francisco Ballet hasn't yet announced for 2013-14 - let's hope they have some blockbusters that would warrant travel to see them. At least it's usually possible to see two programs in a few days with the way they schedule.
mussel
Engagements at the Met need not be under Lincoln Center Festival umbrella, for example, POB in 1996, Mariinsky in 1999, and Bolshoi in 2005 at the Met were not part of Lincoln Center Festival. So there's still a glimmer of hope a major company will pass thru this summer, but I have to admit it doesn't look good, as Bolshoi will tour London this summer, and Mariinsky will have 2 opera houses to fill. We had embarras de richesses last 2 summers, so it's kind of turning cold turkey when no one has announced to come yet. Remember we still have NYCB and ABT.
