undated publicity photo for Soviet era ballet to Western Europe

Recommended Posts

scan of an undated photo of a Moscow? Mlle. sent in the Soviet era, in advance of some sort of concert appearance(s) in Western Europe.

the typed name crinkled along the way is likely a misreading of the dancer's actual name, which a little sleuthing and help from colleagues leads me to think should be (Anna Platonovna) DOMERSHCHIKOVA, who, despite the caption's claim of a Moscow-connection was a Petrograd dancer, by school and employment (in corps de ballet through 1922). the photo itself is a blown-up print from a pre-Revolution photocard, as indicated by the embossed seal in the lower right corner.

as the saying goes: no further information.
