Located in downtown Manhattan and founded in 2010, the Academy here celebrates the achievements of its students and school over the course of this inaugural year of the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet. The program will see excerpts from the Petipa ballets Paquita and Harlequinade Bournonville Etudes, Mime Scene from Folk Tale, and Ballabile from Napoli by Bournonville Grand Pas Classique by Victor Gsovsky Waltz of the Hours from Coppelia by Saint-Leon Flames of Paris (excerpt) by Vasily Vainonen Stealing Time by Michael Chernov. Character dance has not been forgotten, and the dancers will perform Gypsy Dance from Don Quixote Ukrainian Dance by Nadejda Loujine Hopak by Rostislav Zakharov. Link to comment
