Natalia
Alas, this title recently does not result in additional work and better casting for those honored with it, e.g., Dumchenko, Pavlenko. If anything, it's imformally come to symbolize a "booby prize"...a farewell bouquet of sorts. Still - congratulations. Another Mariinsky Ballet person honored today is coach Vyacheslav Khomiakov, the guy responsible for the staging of Soviet-era treasures like Jacobssen's Spartacus and Shurale, Belsky's Leningrad Symphony, etc. All of the ballets that never tour outside of Russia.
