Helene
Today we are launching a joint fundraiser with Ballet Talk for Dancers to pay for our shared software, server, support, and email. Our target is $2400 between the boards -- up from last year due to a drop in amazon.com commissions -- and we hope that if Ballet Talk has been valuable to you, you will support us. In the past we've set a target of $15, but we know times are tight, and truly appreciate any amount. There are two ways to contribute: by PayPal or by check. By PayPal: The PayPal "donate" button is in the upper left corner of each page. PayPal has removed the comments field from the payments screen, but we will have an email address to use to thank you, even if it's different than your board email. By check: Please make all checks payable to Victoria Leigh. The mailing address for checks is: Victoria Leigh 3495 Peachtree Parkway Suite 114-127 Suwanee, GA 30024 Please write in your user name on your check or on a slip of paper with your check. We'd like to be able to thank you. Thank you for your support! Link to comment
Helene
So far, four Ballet Talk members have contributed, and we thank them very much for their support. We also thank those who have sent checks that are in transit. We're running behind, though: to date, most of the contributions have been donated by Ballet Talk for Dancers members. While BT4D does have a larger membership, it's not a 1:8 ratio. If you like the site, we need your help to keep it going. Thank you! Link to comment
innopac
How is the fundraiser going now? Has the situation improved? I notice that on BT for Dancers the fundraiser thread gets "bumped" quite frequently so it comes up when you view new content. I wonder if it would be an idea to do the same here. Everyone is so busy reminders don't go amiss. Link to comment

Mel Johnson
Many thanks to those who have already contributed, and we're looking forward to this being one of the briefest fundraisers we've ever had. So don't lose a chance! If you've thought about it, but haven't quite got around to it, now is a good time to take care of it! Let's go over the top, and return to our regular programming as soon as we make our goal, as they say on the classical radio stations! Link to comment

Alexandra
Thank you, Cristian, and thanks to all who have sent by PayPal or check. I'd like to add my voice to the begging We really do need to raise enough money to keep the site going, if there is to be a site. We only do one fundraiser a year, so we don't bother you every few months, but when we say "Fundraising time!" we would ask those who find this forum useful, either as readers or posters, to help foot the bill. We stop the fundraiser the minute we have enough funds. We're not looking to get rich, just pay for the servers. It's disappointing that so few people have donated something so far. A lot of people read this board, but only a few have helped out. Please help. We need your help to continue this site, and we also need to know it means something to more than a dozen people. Thank you! Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Victoria tells me that we're over halfway there! To those who have already contributed, thank you! For those who mean to, but haven't got 'round to it yet, why wait? Contribute now and avoid the last minute rush! Maybe, just maybe, we can wrap this up by next week, and not have to worry about it for another year. Link to comment
Helene
We're getting close. If you haven't donated so far -- and if you use the amazon.com box at the top of the site regularly, that is your contribution -- please consider it now so we can stop Link to comment
Helene
We're almost there, and ideally, we'd like to put this to a close. We thank everyone who's contributed so far, and to those who continue to support us by purchasing through the amazon.com box at the top of the site. We hope ten more people will join the donor list. Mel Johnson
We're coming in hot! as they say in the Air Force, and hope to be finished with this year's fund drive by next Wednesday. Of course, we're happy to take contributions anytime, and want to encourage shopping through Amazon.com via the banner link all year long. These finder's fees sustain us, so that we don't have to bother you during the busy season, when all the shows are up. This drive has been one of the shortest ever, so good for all the contributors who make and support these boards. Link to comment
Helene
Thanks to a the response of members of Ballet Talk and Ballet Talk for Dancers in the last day, we have met our goal and are ending this year's fundraiser. Thank you and to everyone who donated and to everyone who uses the amazon link at the top of the page, on which we get commissions that cover the rest of our costs. More Link to comment
