Mashinka
Roman Polanski will not now be extradited to the US proving yet again that the rich and famous are above the law. I made my feelings about this case very clear on another thread when he was first placed under house arrest, so instead of commenting myself I include this link from the excellent journalist Johann Hari whom I hadn't before now realized is actually Swiss himself. Please read it and ponder how little the concept of justice means in certain quarters. http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/commentators/johann-hari/johann-hari-so-thats-ok-then-its-fine-to-abuse-young-girls-as-long-as-youre-a-great-film-director-2025067.html Link to comment
Anthony_NYC
As somebody posted the last time this subject came up, a transcript of the girl's testimony is available on The Smoking Gun. It should be required reading for everybody interested in the case. Link to comment
dirac
Thanks for posting, Mashinka. I also unburdened myself thoroughly in the last thread and won't repeat myself unless it's called for, but I quite agree. Anthony_NYC is also right, the testimony is a must-read. Link to comment
bart
Mr. Hari's piece appears in the Independent's "Commentaries" section. It might be a good idea to include a link to the paper's separate news report on the Polanski decision. It's by Tony Paterson. http://www.independe...ea-2025069.html Link to comment
dirac
I don't think it matters, bart. There are plenty of news reports out there for those who have been following the case. Thanks. Link to comment
