rg
scans of the program from the Clive Barnes Celebration yesterday: Actor John Cullum had to cancel due to illness. Valerie Taylor Barnes' brief opening remarks included the announcement of The Clive Barnes Foundation to establish an award to for deserving young artists in theater and dance. She also noted that the event was being filmed, especially so CB's early British colleagues and longtime friends John Percival and Noel Goodwin could have a record of the event as they were unable to travel here for it. The post-presentationg toast/reception gathering was still underway when I left just after five o'clock. Link to comment

rg
forgot to add that the toast in the lobby after the gathering in the theater included further remarks of thanks from Valerie Taylor Barnes and a toast spoken by Damian Woetzel, which ended with his quoting Balanchine at the Stravinsky Celebration, when the balletmaster led a group downing of vodka (we had champagne) by saying: "Here's to the health of guy who died!"
