– The first performance of New York Theatre Ballet's Dance On A Shoestring series will take place on Friday and Saturday, November 20 & 21 at 7 pm at The Dance Gallery, 30 East 31
Street, 5
Floor, NYC. Hailed as
"a miniature American treasure"
by Dance Magazine, this performance marks the opening of NYTB's 31st season, and features the work of
Agnes de Mille, Sallie Wilson, Marco Pelle, Rachael Kosch
Andrea Miller.
Children from Ballet School NY, the official training school of NYTB, will dance selections of their own choreography created in NYTB's

program. Mariko Miyazaki, NYTB music director and pianist will accompany many of the works.

NYTB presents
Agnes de Mille's "Dust"
from her long dormant 1938
American Suite
. De Mille choreography is staged by Gemze de Lappe and Liza Gennaro.

Works created specially for NYTB include Rachael Kosch's solo,
"Three Things"
, a light-hearted solo composed of imagery derived from Picasso's Cubist-Figurative paintings and Fauvist Andre Derain. The music,
by Michael Kosch, is performed entirely on Coke bottles and cans. Italian choreographer Marco Pelle presents his contemporary quartet "
created in 2004 for NYTB.

NYTB honors the legacy of the great American ballerina, Sallie Wilson, who until her death in April 2008 was NYTB's ballet mistress and coach for 22 years. Her ballet,
"Pas de Six Gounod"
was made for NYTB in 2006 highlighting the Company's classical style and Cecchetti influence.

The Company is honoring
Diana Byer
Founder, President, and Artistic Director
with the announcement of the
Byer Fellowship Recipient.
Since 2006, Byer has personally selected outstanding Company dancers of her choice for the award.
