rg
there will no doubt be numerous depictions of Serge Diaghilev in the centennial year of the first tour by his Ballets Russes enterprise outside Russia, but this one, from the Harvard Theatre Collection's announcement card about its doings in Cambridge, MA, is the first one to reach me. the credits for this drawing, previously unfamilar to me, are given as follows: "Serge Diaghilev (1872-1929). Portrait by Constantine Korovine (1961[sic - tho' presumably 1861]-1939). Original drawing, crayon and chalk. George Chaffée Collection, given in 1950. Harvard Theatre Collection, HTC 4,339."
