Recommended Posts

From the company:

New York- Trio Con Brio, set to music by Mikhail Glinka, was choreographed at Jacob's Pillow in 1952. Considered an experimental project by Tudor, the outcome was a departure from his usual psychological dances. The work remained unknown until this past summer when footage was discovered in the archives at Jacob's Pillow. Diana Byer, NYTB's Artistic Director has taken the challenge of reconstructing the work from the 16 mm film and music score. NYTB's principal dancer, Elena Zahlmann will dance the leading female role both evenings. The music will be performed live by NYTB music director Ferdy Tumakaka.

The second performance in New York Theatre Ballet's Dance On A Shoestring series will take place at 7 pm on Friday and Saturday, November 14 & 15 at The Dance Gallery, 30 East 31st Street, 5th Floor, NYC. Hailed as a "discreet little pearl in the oyster of New York dance", by Jennifer Dunning of The New York Times, this performance marks the opening of NYTB's 30th Anniversary season featuring Antony Tudor's lost ballet Trio Con Brio.
