Is it because the feet are slightly cropped that it got less distribution? Or was it posed and not actually from the ballet? Link to comment
rg Posted June 28, 2008 Author Share Posted June 28, 2008 the minimal captioning on the back of the GISELLE photo has some indication of newspaper notes, size, etc. and the word 'film' - so i wonder if there was a film of this cast and this was meant as publicity for such a film. as i said, it's not dated or much identified. About a million years ago I took a mime course where we spent quite a bit on time on our hands. That gently cupped shape was called the 'blessing' hand, and I've always thought it was very evocative. Between Act I and and II Giselle comes to know a new and deeper kind of love. To me, the gesture expresses that love. Link to comment
