Dansuer85
Does anyone know why Joseph is not on the MCB website anymore? Link to comment
Renata
I don't have any idea why he would not be on the web page, but he has his own page, which includes contact information for him at www.josephphillips.net Link to comment
bart
Interesting. Phillips' website refers only obliquely to MCB, linking to a brief pre-season performance of Tarentella. (He danced with Mary Carmen Catoya.) His webiste seems to have deleted reference to the fact that he had actually been a member of the company. There is a mention of "Miami City Ballet 2007". Interestingly, that is followed by "American Ballet Theater 2008 til now." Phillips did not have many opportunities in his short time with MCB. It happens that there are a number of extraordinary new and fairly new male dancers in the company. He was in the "Diamonds" corps for Jewels, but not in the Nutcracker I saw a month later. He was, however, still listed as a company member in that program. Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Now there's an optimist, considering that "now" is before 2008. Link to comment
bart
Mel, the actual phrase is on his MySpace site, linked from the website. Possibly MySpace has lower standards of expression and accuracy than demanded by other parts of the internet? Link to comment
Mel Johnson
I think you can rely on that; but just imagine the confusion of the people who click in between now and December 31, 2008! Link to comment
sf_herminator
He has posted on his site that he is joining ABT: http://josephphillips.net/ Link to comment
juliajane
Joseph Phillips graciously flew in at the last minute to replace an injured performer to dance the Prince with us in New Orleans for some Nutcracker performances, partnering Janessa Touchet from Cincinnati Ballet, Julia Woodward Burka with Delta Festival Ballet Link to comment
Haglund's
ABT's website was updated awhile back to include Joseph Phillips. That's great news! One more North Carolina School of the Arts trained dancer at ABT. It seems there are about 7 or 8 now: Phillips, Riccetto, G. Murphy, M. Murphy, Hoven, Bragado-Young, Stappas and Waldrep in ABT II. NCSA seems to be quite the feeding line to ABT these days. Link to comment
