Dale Posted December 13, 2007 Share Posted December 13, 2007 From the company: AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE TO DEDICATE PERFORMANCES OF THE NUTCRACKER IN MEMORY OF JENNIFER ALEXANDER American Ballet Theatre will dedicate its performances of The Nutcracker at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, December 18-23, to the memory of beloved Company member Jennifer Alexander. Alexander, who died tragically on December 2, was a member of ABT’s corps de ballet since 1994. “I can think of no greater tribute for the Company to pay than with a gift of artistry. Jennifer was revered by her fellow dancers in the corps de ballet and respected as an artist by all of us,” said Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. Link to comment

Dale Posted December 19, 2007 Author Share Posted December 19, 2007 More news from ABT: AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE ESTABLISHES THE JENNIFER ALEXANDER MEMORIAL FUND Marian Butler Named First Annual Jennifer Alexander Dancer American Ballet Theatre has announced the formation of The Jennifer Alexander Memorial Fund, to honor the late Jennifer Alexander, a beloved member of ABT’s corps de ballet. Gifts to the Fund will be used to support the newly established Jennifer Alexander Dancer, recognizing a senior female dancer in the corps de ballet. “In honor of our dear friend and colleague, the title of Jennifer Alexander Dancer will be bestowed annually upon one member of the corps de ballet who best represents the professionalism, perseverance and generosity that Jennifer herself embodied,” said Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. “We are proud to recognize Marian Butler as the inaugural recipient.” Contributions to The Jennifer Alexander Memorial Fund can be made to: Ballet Theatre Foundation, 890 Broadway, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10003.
