Now if only another discipline would consider the idea... :beg:
The Met's "HD/Live" performances last season were some of the most exciting experiences I've had in a theater in a long time. I'm with Mme. Hermine in wishsing that someone in the ballet world would have the vision to give it a try.

On the other hand, the people who bought tickets to the Met's transmissions were also the kind of people who buy tickets to live opera in the cities and regions in which they live. Does anyone know whether the Met's great success last season had a negative impact on ticket sales for live performances by other companies?

If NYCB or ABT ever got around to trying this, what effect do you think it would have on regional ballet companies?

Also -- since Paris, the Kirov, and now London seem more adventurous in these matters than the main American companies -- would live transmissions from one of them possibly delayed to allow for time zone differences) have much of a chance at succeeding here in the US market?

What WOULD make something like this work for ballet?
