volcanohunter Posted September 26, 2007 The first fruits of the ROH's purchase of Opus Arte: the telecast of Ashton's Sylvia, with Darcey Bussell and Roberto Bolle, will be released in the coming months by Opus Arte. (Presumably, the release date of November 1 applies to Europe.) http://www.opusarte.com/pages/product.asp?ProductID=218 Thanks to the Dansomanie forum for the heads up. Share this post Link to post

bart Posted September 26, 2007 the telecast of Ashton's Sylvia, with Darcey Bussell and Roberto Bolle, will be released in the coming months by Opus Arte.Thank, volcanohunter. I also am looking forward to this. Bussell is under-represented on videos currently available in the US. But then, so are most American dancers, come to think of it. Share this post Link to post
volcanohunter Posted December 16, 2007 According to Amazon, the DVD will be released in North America on January 29, 2008. The price isn't listed yet, so let's keep our fingers crossed. Amazon has been posting some nutty prices for ballet DVDs lately. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WMHTAU/ Share this post Link to post
Alexandra Posted December 16, 2007 I got a copy last week from Dance Books in London -- it's all regions, so will play in my machine. Share this post Link to post
volcanohunter Posted December 23, 2007 Thank heavens: the pre-order price is a perfectly reasonable $22.99. Share this post Link to post
James Posted January 26, 2008 A small word, just to UP this topic in case some of you folks missed this release. I got my copy last Tuesday and watched it twice in a row I liked it so much. And a 3rd time yesterday evening. OK, now I'm officially nuts... Share this post Link to post
DanceActress Posted July 1, 2009 I just purchased this DVD after seeing "Sylvia" with ABT this week. The cast list is incomplete, and not being a a frequent viewer of the Royal Ballet, can someone help me? Who are the soloists in the third act dancing Ceres, Jaseion, Persephone, Pluto, Terpsichore, and Apollo? Share this post Link to post
