rg
i seem to recall, perhaps erroneously, that someone was once asking for CD recordings of the FLAMES OF PARIS pas de deux. i just got a used copy of a one-disc recording called ORIGINAL BOLSHOI THEATRE ORCHESTRA - digital recording - BALLET GALA it's strangely labeled. the tracks listed on the back of the disc include: LA FILLE MAL GARDEE - said to be Herold's (including some variations sometimes associated with HARLEQUINADE) LA SYLPHIDE - said to be Schneitzhoeffer's but turns out to Lowenskjold's LE CORSAIRE - said to be Adam (w/ the variation everywhere else associated w/ gamzatti in LA BAYADERE's betrothal sc.) THE FLAMES OF PARIS - assafiev WALPURGISNACHT/FAUST - gounod SPRING WATERS - rachmaninoff GOPAK - (traditional) the booklet's notes have entries on all but the SPRING WATERS tracks. the label is PILZ/ACANTA copyright 1989 Link to comment
