OPENING NIGHT GALA AT NEW YORK CITY CENTER

American Ballet Theatre’s Opening Night Gala at New York City Center, Wednesday, October 18 at 6:30 PM, will feature highlights from the Company’s Revivals scheduled during the Fall season. Included will be the first movement from George Balanchine’s Symphonie Concertante, the pas de deux from Lar Lubovitch’s Meadow and the Revival Premiere of Twyla Tharp’s Sinatra Suite. A full performance of Tharp’s In The Upper Room will conclude ABT’s gala performance.

Gala chairmen include Muffie Potter Aston and Sherrell Aston, Anne and Mario Grauso and Julia and David Koch. Corporate co-chairs include Scott Rechler of Reckson Associates and Christian Baha of Superfund Asset Management, Inc. ABT’s Opening Night Gala is generously underwritten by Reckson Associates. Superfund Asset Management, Inc. is the sponsor of ABT’s 2006 New York City Center season.

A Gala dinner at New York’s landmark Pierre Hotel will immediately follow the performance. The annual Lucia Chase Award, in honor of American Ballet Theatre’s founder, will be presented to ABT Trustee James S. Regan, in recognition of his outstanding commitment and support of the Company.
