rg Posted May 5, 2006 Share Posted May 5, 2006 the attached is a 1968 publicity photo from NBC regarding the Bell Telephone telecast of MAN WHO DANCES about Edward Villella, who is shown in this picture with Patricia McBride, who was also featured in the television program. The two dancers are posed, costumed for RUBIES, in Karinska's designs, then around a year old. As noted on this site, Karinska's costumes are being featured this season both as part of the School of American Ballet Workshop and (as may or may not have been noted here) in connection with New York City Ballet's current spring season at the New York State Theater, where an exhibit of close-up photographs showing Karinska's creations has been installed on Theater Left, Promenade level.
