Petra Posted March 29, 2005 Share Posted March 29, 2005 In a radio interview with Marianne Faithfull I heard yesterday evening the interviewer read out the press release for Faithfull's very first single (As Tears Go By) in 1964. Among other things describing the wonderful, sexy, swinging and really with-it 17 year old Faithfull, the press release said "Marianne digs (sic) Marlon Brando, woodbine cigarettes [and] going to the ballet". 40 years later, no publicist would include either cigarettes or the ballet in a list of trendy interests.
