sandik
I live in Seattle, but haven't yet had a chance to get to Vancouver and see John Alleyn's work for Ballet BC. Is there anyone here who could speak about the company? Link to comment
mic31
The have the ballet Carmen coming up in early November. They seem to have a decent following here. I haven't seen as much of Ballet BC as I would like to. Check their website for more info or just contact me I'll dig up what I can Link to comment
sandik
Whose Carmen are they doing? Link to comment
Adrienne
They performed Orpheus, which according to their site is John Alleyne's second full-length story ballet, in Halifax last night. I had wanted to see it, but I couldn't, 'cause I had to come home for Thanksgiving. Sigh. Link to comment
dancemomCA
 I saw BC Ballet's production of "Orpheus" this week in Ottawa. It was very moving - the female principal, Emily Molnar, is tall and powerful - wonderful energy on stage. Can't write much more at this time. I will write more thoughts tomorrow. But, if you get a chance to see it, I highly recommend the ballet. Link to comment
Adrienne
I was just talking to a friend of mine last week, a nondancer, who went to see Orpheus. It was the first full-length ballet she'd ever seen, but she loved it. Of course, as she's not into ballet, she didn't really know how to tell me what she loved about it, but it's good to know she enjoyed it. Link to comment
