Xena
If you could ask any question to any ballet dancer/choreographer/ballet composer living or dead what would it be? I would for sure ask Balanchine " Did you really train your cat to peform jetés and tours en l'air?" Jeanette Link to comment
Giannina
I'd ask Merrill Ashley to explain Balanchine to me, with demonstrations. Giannina Link to comment
Hans
I'd ask Petipa what he really meant his ballets to look like and why and about balletic structure--most particularly, how to use a corps de ballet. In short, I'd ask him to give me a choreography lesson! Link to comment
Victoria Leigh
I would ask Tudor how he chose his stories and music, about his musicality, and how he managed to to teach me so much in a few rehearsals! Essentially, like Hans, I would ask for a choreography lesson! Link to comment
carbro
I would ask Gelsey Kirkland how she got her feet so supple, so that they seemed to scoop up the floor as she jumped. It always looked like she had an extra set of joints in her instep. Then I would ask Hans what Maestro Petipa had told him. Link to comment
glebb
I would ask Balanchine what it was like being a monkey in a tree with Kschessinska trying to shoot him down in "La Fille Du Pharaon", and to give me every detail of his meeting with the last Tsar and Tsaritza of Russia. Link to comment
