  1. I feel there always is (or should be...) a spiritual dimension in dancing, whether it is religious or not. I think that beautiful and heartfelt dancing elevates the mind and the spirit of both the performer and the public. To Calliope: I did not know Preljocaj choreographed a work called "Ascension". Do you know when he did it? I saw "Annonciation" which he choreographed in 1995, and I did not like it very much (sorry...) Dragonfly
  2. "Summer" was the closing piece in last September's "Le Gala des Etoiles" in Montreal and IMHO it was the evening's best moment. Dragonfly
  3. I totally agree with Mashinka. Last September I was at "Le Gala des Etoiles" in Montreal, and Anastasia Volochkova opened the evening with a solo called "Adiemus" with music by Karl Jenkins and choreography (?) by Renato Zanella (does anyone know this choreographer?) When I came back home I wrote a critic for a friend who could not attend and I remember telling her that this could have probably passed as a 5$ dance (refering to the club dancers who dance at the client's table for 5$ or 10$ depending on... whatever!) I could not understand how she was allowed to present this on stage. Vulgar and completely tasteless. Dragonfly

  5. I already bought a copy for myself and one for a dancer friend as a Christmas gift! It looks great. In Canada it retails at 19.95$ Dragonfly
