  1. Also, Nadezhda Gracheva retired. Congratulations to Nina Kaptsova! I thought she would be stuck at soloist level for the rest of her career, and she really deserves her principal status.
  2. My cinema which is broadcasting the Bolshoi's Nutcracker says this one is a reprise as well. (This seems logical, as this production was broadcast live last year featuring Kaptsova and Ovcharenko)
  3. There's more on the poster's channel. Osipova seems to have adopted the ABT way of doing the act I variation.
  4. It seems to me that they are all on the same leg as long as they are in the back row, as soon as they go around the 1st corner they alternate..
  5. The variation was not performed, only this waltz in the video, also choreographed by Pierre Lacotte.
  6. I have figured that one out, sandik. First you type the text you want, then you select the part you want to link to another website and then you click the 'link' button and insert the URL
  7. I found another video featuring Smirnova rehearsing with Marina Kondratieva. To watch it, go to this page, scroll to the right in the box of thumbnails, and click the one where you see a girl with a light blue top and white sweat pants.
  8. I'm sorry this took me so long. The 1976 Romeo & Juliet film with Bessmertnova and Lavrovsky is indeed 108 minutes long.
  9. I own it, and I can check how long it is on Sunday. I believe it was filmed in 1976.
  10. This was discussed (a little) in the interview with Yuri Burlaka and Vasily Medvedev during the intermission of the broadcast. Mr Medvedev said that in the grand pas with Fleur de Lys, he used the floor patterns of Petipa, but changed the steps. And he added a male corps to show the world what they could do (I don't recall what he exactly said, but this is the essention of what he said). This was the example he used, I wonder what he has changed in other scenes.. I think Burlaka also said that all of Perrot's mime was shown in the production.
  11. A clip of Olesya Novikova in the new/old Raymonda has appeared on youtube:
  12. That's odd. Here in Belgium we seem to get all of the Bolshoi broadcasts, except for the reopening gala

    Evgenia Obraztsova

I was just going through the casting for the upcoming month at the Bolshoi, when I came by Evgenia Obraztsova's name as dancing Kitri on the 16th of October opposite Vladislav Lantratov. She is also listed on the 'Guest Stars' page (in fact, she's the only one listed there) In the same performance, Olga Smirnova will debut in the second grand pas variation (and her first performance with the Bolshoi will be a few days earlier in the Swan Lake pas de trois) So apparently Evgenia is getting some more (deserved!) stage time, thank you Mr. Filin!
  14. I think members of BA are not allowed to post photos. We can, however, upload a picture somewhere else (like photobucket.com or something similar) and post a link to the picture here.
  15. I didn't really know where to put this, I'm sorry if it's in the wrong place. I came across today. In the description it says 'Настя Заклинская', Nastya Zaklinskaya. Could this be the daughter of Altynai Asylmuratova and her husband Konstantin Zaklinsky?I know I have read somewhere that she had a daughter that is studying at the Vaganova Academy.. Unfortunately the video's not very sharp and it's not really possible to see who's who, but still nice to get a glimpse. So, could anyone maybe confirm this? Thank you
  16. That's great! There's a part 1 on youtube as well, it has the Giselle pdd done by Vladimir Malakhov (as Giselle) and Diana Vishneva (as count Albrecht)! You can see it here. edit: I have found a version that is filmed from the audience rather than the wings: here
  17. That is his wife Tatiana Terekhova. (What a gorgeous Aurora! ) Such sad news, (and on my birthday too..) my heart goes out to his wife and all the Mariinsky dancers.
  18. And on this youtube channel there's some more.
  19. This has just appeared online: and the .I hope this youtube user has some more and will share it with us
  20. The Mariinsky's youtube channel also has a about the performances. It includes short interviews with Altynai Asylmuratova, Ludmila Kovaleva and Olga Smirnova.
  21. I came across this on Youtube today; apparently video footage of Vecheslova and Chabukiani in the States.
  22. Off topic: what does 'diapason' mean? I can see generally what it means from te context, but an exact explanation would be nice - Google wasn't of much help (ok, literally it means 'tuning fork', but I don't really see how that fits here). Thank you
  23. I think I recognise some of the 'oddities' you mention from the 1957 Swan Lake DVD with Plisetskaya (I don't know whose production that is), is this possible?
